The Graduate and Professional Student Federation (GPSF) and Residence Hall Association (RHA) are excited to announce a pilot program for the Baity Hill Community Council. We have developed this pilot project after our October 2020 survey found that 58% of Baity Hill residents were interested in having a community organization to create community events, advocate on their behalf to Carolina Housing, and otherwise work to improve the residential experience in Baity Hill.

Right now, we are looking for interested residents who will be living in Baity Hill through May 2021 to serve on the Spring 2021 Baity Hill Community Council. This temporary council will consist of up to five (5) current Baity Hill residents who will meet throughout the Spring 2021 semester to discuss further development of the pilot program, identify relevant issues in the community, and organized a few small-scale events (virtual or socially distant in-person, as COVID-conditions and local guidelines permit). Members will be able to meet regularly with Carolina Housing leadership and have access to up to $1500 in funding to support their activities.

The anticipated time commitment is 2 hours per week, on average, including a bi-weekly council meeting. If you are interested in being part of the Spring 2021 Council, please complete the application and submit it no later than January 8th. Those selected for the Council will be notified the week of January 11th. If you have questions, feel free to reach out to us directly.

Sincerely,

Kira Griffith
